Our names are Reuel James and Iman Tadu, and we're the co-founders of Mot Drinks.
Mot Drinks has two major influences, one coming from Reuel, and the other from Iman.
Reuel wanted a drink that encompassed a plant-based diet seen in and across the Caribbean known as Ital. It's more than just a diet; ital (coming from the word “vital”) is about eating nourishing, health-promoting food that is grown from the earth around them.
Iman felt that his tied in beautfiully with 'Kumusha', a word in her native tongue. In the Shona language of Zimbabwe, kumusha means "home," "homeland," "ancestral home," or "the place where you come from." It carries a strong sense of cultural identity and connection, representing the place tied to one's family, traditions, and roots, rather than just where someone currently lives.
